An international publishing journey across five countries, a special Bengaluru launch, and a vision to inspire people through literature and social impact.
Some books celebrate a personality, while others capture the emotions and inspiration that person brings into people’s lives. For Bengaluru-based Author Vas, THALAPATHY VIJAY – A Name. A Feeling. A Revolution represents both.
Dedicated to Thalapathy Vijay, the book celebrates the emotional connection he shares with millions of admirers while exploring a broader message of courage, resilience and self-belief.
Vijay’s journey from cinema to political leadership has entered a new chapter with his becoming Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. For Author Vas, the book’s central message extends beyond any profession: inspiration can encourage people to overcome challenges, pursue their ambitions and believe in themselves.
The book’s Global Edition has reached international markets including Australia, Germany, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Its exclusive Indian Edition was launched in Bengaluru on Vijay’s birthday, marking another milestone in the author’s publishing journey.
In this exclusive interview, Author Vas discusses the inspiration behind his book, its growing international presence and his vision for the future. Here is a conversation with the author exploring the story, purpose and ambitions behind his work.
“More Than a Name, It Represents a Feeling”
What inspired you to write this book?
Thalapathy Vijay represents something special to millions of people. For many admirers, he is more than a personality they follow; he represents memories, emotions and inspiration.
I wanted to capture that connection through a book. The title, A Name. A Feeling. A Revolution., reflects the idea behind the project. A name represents identity, a feeling represents an emotional bond, and a revolution represents transformation.
My intention was to create a tribute that acknowledges this connection while communicating a wider message about determination and self-belief.
From Cinema to Political Leadership
Vijay is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. How does this new chapter influence the book’s message?
His transition into political leadership represents a significant change in his public life. It brings new responsibilities associated with governance and public service.
For me, the broader theme is transformation. People can discover new ambitions, take on different responsibilities and pursue paths they may once have only imagined.
I hope readers recognise that their own journeys can evolve too. Challenges need not permanently limit their ambitions, and setbacks do not have to define their future.
A Book That Inspires People to Face Challenges
What message do you want readers to take away?
Everyone faces challenges, whether personal, professional or emotional. Sometimes, people lose confidence or feel uncertain about their future.
Inspiration can remind us to keep moving forward. My hope is that this book encourages readers to confront difficulties with courage, rebuild their confidence and continue pursuing their dreams.
If even one reader finds the strength to overcome a difficult situation or believe in themselves again because of the message behind this book, I would consider that a meaningful achievement.
For me, it is about more than admiring a public figure. It is about the resilience and hope that inspiration can awaken in people.
From Bengaluru to Five International Markets
The Global Edition has reached five international markets. What does this mean to you?
It is an encouraging milestone in my journey as an author. The book has reached markets including Australia, Germany, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
People may live in different countries, but emotions such as admiration, determination and hope are universal. I want the book to reach more readers and connect with those who appreciate Vijay as well as those who relate to its message of courage and self-belief.
The Indian Edition: A Special Birthday Launch
Tell us about the Bengaluru launch. Who released the book?
The exclusive Indian Edition was launched at Devasandra Government Higher Primary School in Bengaluru on the occasion of Thalapathy Vijay’s birthday.
Shri D. K. Mohan Babu, General Secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), officially released the book, while Shri L. Jaya Ram, KR Puram Guarantee Scheme President, received the first copy.
Their participation made the occasion an important milestone. The involvement of students and the opportunity to share the project with the community added further significance to the event.
Launching the Indian Edition on Vijay’s birthday was a meaningful way to connect the publication with the person who inspired it.
Beyond Books: Author Vas’s Future Ambitions
What are your plans for the future?
For me, writing is not just about publishing books; it is about creating an impact. I want my work to inspire people, encourage them to overcome challenges and remind them that their circumstances do not have to define their future.
One of my major upcoming initiatives is Nava Foundation, an NGO we are developing with a vision to inspire people, support those in need and create opportunities for positive change in society. I believe inspiration becomes more meaningful when it translates into action. Through Nava Foundation, I hope to contribute to the community and help people build better futures.
On the literary front, I am working on my upcoming project, The Night Did Not Own Her, while Honey and Hurt is gaining popularity and attracting growing interest. I look forward to bringing these projects to a wider audience and continuing to explore stories that connect with readers emotionally.
My ambition is to bring together literature, social responsibility and meaningful storytelling. Whether through a book that gives someone hope, an initiative that supports a person in need or a story that encourages reflection, I want my work to stand for something beyond recognition.
Ultimately, I hope to grow not only as an author but also as someone who contributes positively to society. For me, true success is measured not just by how far my work travels, but by how deeply it touches lives.
Beyond the Pages
The journey of THALAPATHY VIJAY – A Name. A Feeling. A Revolution reflects Author Vas’s ambition to transform admiration into a published work with international reach and a message that extends beyond entertainment.
From its Global Edition reaching five international markets to its exclusive Indian Edition launched in Bengaluru, the book has marked important milestones in the author’s publishing journey. The Bengaluru launch, where Shri D. K. Mohan Babu released the book and Shri L. Jaya Ram received the first copy, added a special chapter to the project.
With Nava Foundation in development and new literary projects on the horizon, Author Vas is looking towards a future that combines creative expression with social responsibility.
Because sometimes, a name becomes a feeling, a feeling becomes inspiration, and inspiration gives someone the courage to change their own story.
