Zomato and Eternal founder Deepinder Goyal has revealed six colour options for Temple, his upcoming wearable device designed to monitor brain-related health metrics.

Goyal shared images of the launch-edition colours on October 1 and said that pre-orders could open as early as next week, although the company is still waiting to finalise a few details.

Temple to launch in six colours

The first Temple launch edition will be available in six colours:

  • True Gold
  • Rose Gold
  • Dark Mirror
  • Real Jade
  • Deep Blue
  • Purple Funk

The colours represent a wider selection than the gold-coloured version shown in earlier promotional material. It is not yet clear whether all six finishes will remain available after the initial launch.

Pre-orders may open next week

Goyal said Temple pre-orders are expected to begin soon and could open next week, but he has not announced a specific date.

People who have already joined Temple's early-access waitlist will receive priority when pre-orders begin.

The final retail price has also not been officially announced. Previous reports have suggested a price in the region of ₹75,000–₹80,000, but this should not be treated as the confirmed launch price.

What is Deepinder Goyal's Temple?

Temple is a compact wearable designed to sit near the side of the forehead rather than on the wrist like a conventional smartwatch.

The device is being developed around technology that Goyal calls BrainFlow, which is intended to continuously measure blood flow to the brain. The project is being developed with researchers and has been presented as a way of collecting brain-related physiological data during everyday activities.

Goyal has previously said that the latest version of Temple is less than half the size of the version shown earlier. He has described it as the smallest wearable by volume while also claiming improved capabilities. These are claims from Goyal and have not been independently established here.

Temple's BrainFlow technology

Temple's development has involved researchers from institutions including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), IIT Bombay and SISSA in Italy.

Goyal has said the team developed and validated a method for continuously measuring blood flow to the brain using the wearable. A study involving 60 participants compared the technology with time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy (TD-NIRS).

The research has been posted as a preprint and submitted for peer review. Independent validation is therefore still important when assessing the technology's capabilities and potential health applications.

Temple moves closer to launch

The latest colour announcement suggests Temple is moving closer to its commercial launch.

Goyal has previously indicated that the limited launch edition could begin shipping before the end of 2026. For now, however, the pre-order date, final price and complete commercial specifications remain unconfirmed.

For consumers interested in the device, the early-access waitlist will receive priority when Temple's pre-orders officially open.
